e - Waste

Concept Explanation

e - Waste

Electronic or e - waste, includes the items that is related to electronics such as old computers and their monitors, TVs, computers, microwave ovens and other electronic equipment. This type of waste cannot be decomposed and subsequently deposited into land fills.

E - waste is particularly dangerous due to toxic chemicals that naturally leach from the metals inside when buried. When E-waste gets buried at a landfill, it can dissolve in microscopic traces into the gross sludge that permeates at the landfill. Eventually, these traces of toxic materials pool into the ground below the landfill. This is known as leaching.

Different Methods of  E- Waste Management :

The best way to process e waste is by melting circuit boards, burning the cable sheathing to recover copper wire and open pit acid hang on for separating metals of value. In order to reclaim a waste material such as electrolyte, osmosis, electrolytic recovery, condensation, filtration, centrifugation etc.

Treatment  Process for E - Waste :

The treatment process for e - waste, typically included dismanting, processing and end processing. Dismanting is the first step to separate hazardous components as well as valuable components. In the subsequent processing , materials are fragmentised to liberate the materials from compounds and separated.
